Blackjack
is a card game that involves a dealer and you the player(s).
The
aim of the game is to get a better score and beat the dealers
hand (a dealers hand is what cards they have)
There are different versions of blackjack that can be played
but they all revolve around a basic set of rules. (If you
join an online casino you may be able to play different blackjack
games, but they should also include more specific rules to
which type of blackjack you are playing).
Basic
Rules of Blackjack
- Blackjack is played with a standard pack of 52 cards (jokers
and any extra non standard cards taken out of the pack)
- The dealer deals the player 2 cards and the dealer also
gets 2 cards.
- You have to try and get your cards to or as near as possible
to 21 without going over.
- If your cards total goes above 21 then you are bust (bust
= cards totalling more than 21 so the player can no longer
play on)
- The player adds the value of his or her initial 2 cards
together and from there decides is they want to hit or stick
(hit = a player being dealt another card(s). Stick = not being
dealt any more card as the player has 21 or doesn't want to
chance going bust)
- Depending on which rules you play a player can stick at
any time or only if they go above a certain number.
- When the player(s) sticks the dealer is then able to hit
to try and get a better score or equal the score of the player.
- Depending on which rules are being played the dealer cannot
stick on a total less than 15 and has to twist until they
are on or above this score.
- If the player and the dealer get the same score or both
go bust then this is known as a push and neither wins unless
either the player or deal has blackjack and the other doesn't.
- Blackjack is the best hand a player can get in the game.
It is when 2 cards are dealt that total 21 without any other
cards being dealt, this is done with an Ace and 1 other face
card or a ten.
